Malmo City

In this article, the writer discusses the new development in Western Harbor of Malmo city in Sweden. Human lives here, however, there are not alone, some types of animals lives here too.The first stage around of 1350 new occupied apartments included the new idea in waste management, renewable energy and sustainable transport. The planners added a new idea by asking to include measures to promote biodiversity.

From the list of green features, the developers had to choose 10 of them and they are in certain area. People recognized moving of some species to the Western Harbour like seabirds and approximately 3 of bat species. Many weeds have been grown in Ankarparken recreation and several species of fish, molluscs, mussels and crustaceans took a place in this area too. The planners give there consider to the biodiversity at first for the people who lives in the first stage. These houses have got the sustainable living and biodiversity but the target of all these development is to make people more understandable because of green credentials. The meaing of ecology is very important therefore, the children must understand it to save Earth for the next generation. In addition, Developers are asked to put rooftop wind turbines for the new apartments to encourage biodiversity.

In conclusion, I believe that is a very important step and it’s a big idea which hasn’t been made anywhere else and it support the environment.

water shortage in India

Nowadays, clean drinking water is an issue around the world; many countries are suffering from the shortage of the natural resources of water like rivers and lakes. India is one of these countries which have the problem in providing enough clean water. This will be the topic of this report.

The main problem of water shortage is that India has plenty of water resources that are not being fully used. For example, there is many rivers, and they have the largest river island and also soiree the highest rainfall. Despite all these resources India faces water shortages every year. It is rounded that by few years later, about 50 % of India's population will be living in cities. This is going to put further pressure on the already distressed water supply systems of urban areas. Sanitation and water management are other faces of the water problem in India because the more than 80% of the water is polluted and the transmission and distribution networks are old and poorly maintained, and generally of a poor quality.

The priority should be given quickly to create an infrastructure to assure the availability of water for the increasing population. This should be done without ignoring the quality and sanitation of water and the good distribution to assure that water reaches every citizen in the entire-continent of India.

In conclusion, Indians should find ways to overcome this problem in order to prevent political disorders in the country. They must also figure a solution that will be financially affordable.

Problems and solution of global warming

Global warming is a big problem. Now days as a wheel of technology is running, fossil fuels and bad waste disposal have been identified as major causes of the global warming problem. I will outline the problems involved with these two issues, and provide a solution that is happening in our own country.

Fossil fuels are a major cause of global warming. The world’s reliance on fossil fuels, coal, fuel oil and natural gas is to blame for global warming. The effects of higher carbon dioxide would not go away in our lifetime. (O'Driscoll and Vergano)

Another major problem is waste disposal. Disposing of waste in a landfill involves burying the waste, which usually result in gases such as methane and carbon dioxide. This gas can create odor problems, kill surface vegetation, and is a greenhouse gas. Incineration is another form of waste disposal. Incineration is a controversial method of waste disposal.

Here in the UAE, we are trying to give the solution by building Masdar, the world's first zero-carbon, zero-waste city, powered almost entirely by the sun. Masdar will be residential and business but will use 75% less electricity and 60% less water. Cars are not allowed, People will take light rail or electric transportation pods. Solar thermal farms, will supply a quarter of the city's power. The city's wastewater will irrigate urban farms that grow biofuels. (Ioffe)

Everybody in the world sees the UAE as only interested in selling fuel and making money. We have been told we have one of the world’s largest carbon footprints. However when we look at the Masdar project we can see that this city will try to provide different solutions to the burning of fossil fuels and waste disposal, which are the main causes of global warming.

cool cities

Cities like Masdar city which cost approximately $22 billion (Masdar, 2014: The Greenest City in the World) are not the solution to global worming because these cities are impractical for different reasons. In this essay I will prove my opinion with some reasons which support it.

First of all the most obvious of human growth .Nowadays the number of people is increasing and that is why not everyone can live in these types of cities. This chart shows the world population(International Data Base).

The second point is that the huge cost to build this type of cities .As a result of this not everyone can afford to live there. Moreover there are a lot of poor countries across the world so having these types of cities is impossible.

Further point is that lifestyle. It’s not easy to live in these types of cities. For example, some people like to eat their eating habits. Moreover they like to use their own 4x4 cars but in cool cities they will use trains.

Finally, I beleive that living in cool city is not the solution for the global worming problem, because these cities are impractical and we should find other ways to solve this problem.

In the past, people didn’t use electricity such as transport. However, now as the wheel of technology is running people use different types to produce electricity A carbon footprint is a method to get the amount of the carbon dioxide that we produce from what we use.. Now I will describe my research into carbon footprint and compare my research with others students.

I visited two different websites were I calculated my carbon footprint. The first one (WWF). I did the test and I got the result which was 3.24 earths. The test was in four categories which were food 20%, home 25%, travel 35% and stuff 20%. These men that we need 3.24 earths if everybody live the same lifestyle I live. However, in the other side(Heroes of the UAE) my result was 1.7 earths. Most my carbon footprint was in cooling and IT. The average of the two website was 2.5 earths and 14.31 tones of CO2 pear year.

I compared my result with my classmates. My first classmate Anas got 2.8 earths and he is almost close to my result. The second consumer Abdul Rahman got 2.17 earths. The third consumer Mutlaq who got the highest score 3. earths unlike the rest of us, he comes to college by helicopter. The average person in the UAE has more demand on the global ecosystem than any others countries giving the world’s largest per-capita ecological footprint.

It’s really recommended to start using renewable sources than non renewable resources. Furthermore, maybe I could reduce the hours I use the car by planning exactly where I have to go. I could also go to college with my brother because one car is better than two cars. My advice is that we have to start to think about our planet future by developing high technology industry and reduce our electricity usage.

"An Inconveninet Truth Review"

The An Inconvenient Truth movie shows the danger effect of global warming on our planet. It shows also a true evidences and figures to prove that danger. But it seems to be more political movie than a documentary movie. In this argument essay I will go through two opposite opinions belongs to two different writers and write my opinion.

One of the writers wrote a preview about the movie and thinks the movie is a political movie rather than being a documentary. It’s made to put pressure on Bush’s administration. "Al Gore might use the film as a platform for the 2008 presidential Run" (Morris). Also he was emotionally driven by using few sad stories.

On the other hand the oppisite writer thinks that the movie is a well made documentary and edited to show how fast the earths’ temperature is increasing. It is a necessary film to educate the people and show how big is the global warming issue (Scott). The movie was not about Al Gore as the bigger part of it was to animate the climate changes in a professional and intelligent way to convince the audience (Scott).

In my point of view about this great movie is that, this movie has showed the issue of global warming in the very true way and has all the needed data to prove the size of the issue. It is a good step to watch this movie and keep moving in changing and correcting the human faults.

An Inconvenient Truth

Al Gore is a serious researcher and trying to show to the people the dangers of the climate change to the world and in the environment these days. Also he is interested in how is the climate change effect on the human, animals and on the world as a whole. He mentioned that the north of the equator is one of the world places where we can look at the changes on the climate.
He showed us that the world in danger because of the global warming. The glacier around the world is melting day by day and this melting is making the place dangerous to the animals that are living there such as the polar bears. He explained the reason for this phenomenon which is the high temperature that are rising more and more so the ice in the north of the equator is melting and became.
Now we can note that both Hemisphere and CO2 are in creasing in the two graphs of temperature in the past several years. Al Gore mentioned that there are some climate changes in ecological niches and warning of the disaster are coming to the earth and we will face a major impact. Nowadays we should take Americans as example of a country which had done a great thing to solve and to face the global warming which is achievement is the ozone layer issue.

what is Global Warming

Global warming is the rise in temperature of the earth's atmosphere. The earth is naturally warmed by rays from the sun which pass through the earth's atmosphere and are reflected back out to space again.
The global warming is nutural. However, if extra greenhouse gases are made, the thermal blanket gets thicker and too much heat is kept in the earth's atmosphere. That's when global warming is bad, Carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, water vapour, ozone and chlorofluorocarbons are all natural gases, but extra greenhouses gases can be made by humans from pollution. In addition, global sea levels could rise by more than 20 feet with the loss of shelf ice in Greenland and Antarctica, destoying coastal areas worldwide.
Nowadays, there are many agencies which consider solving this big problem. global warming can aeffect everybody who lives in the world.
